FAQ about Destination Weddings & Wedding Photography
Here you'll find answers to the most common questions about my work as a wedding photographer. Whether it's about planning your shoot, choosing the perfect outfits, or details about delivery – I want to ensure you feel well-informed and fully prepared. To be perfectly honest:
Enjoy your day.
You plan and organise months or years in advance. Eventually, your big day arrives and you've agreed everything, planned everything down to the last detail. If something goes wrong now or one of your guests isn't happy... then that's how it is. You're not doing this for your guests, but for yourselves, so...
…enjoys it.
Generally, always when the sun rises and sets, so during the golden hour.
Sunrises can be particularly interesting, especially for elopements, if you want to make use of this early morning hour. On „normal“ wedding days, both in Germany and for destination weddings, I generally do two photo sessions with you. Once 20-25 minutes after the first look or the ceremony, and then again in the evening at sunset. You can also get beautiful light during the blue hour, which is immediately after sunset, and at this time the photos tend to be a bit more cinematic.
There are no set upper limits here; it can go over €10,000. At least for my services, you will receive a thoroughly fair offer from me. Upon receiving your booking enquiry from my Contact Form Once I have received this, I will send you your relevant pricing page, whether it's for a wedding in Germany, a destination wedding, or an elopement. There are definitely differences in price here. The pricing page explains why this is the case. Within my pricing page, if you are interested, you can then select your individual appointment for an introductory call; you will always find my booking calendar below for this.
From a certain point, I will charge travel expenses. I will discuss this openly, however. For some couples, especially for destination weddings and elopements, a travel expense flat rate integrated into the price is more suitable, so you won't have to do sums and will have all expenses regarding my travel in full view.
Depending on the package, you will receive your sneak preview within the first 24 or 72 hours. This will include approximately 30 – 60 images that you can use for anything. After the preview, I will start on your edits and will usually be finished within 3 – 4 weeks during peak season, unless you have also booked film. This takes a little longer, as editing a film takes considerably more time.
The most frequently asked question I get is: what does a wedding cost with you? And I understand this question, because your photos and/or your film are a real investment. They last longer than anything and by that I mean anything, no flower, no dress and no menu lasts as long and brings the day back to you in the way that photos and film can. A more important question should really be: „are we a match humanly?“ Because only then can you let yourselves go and be yourselves and to this question, there is a simple answer: „just get to know me.“ Get to know them now
I can absolutely understand that you want to stay with your guests for as long as possible, and rest assured, I always try to achieve that. Locations are always best when a shoot can be carried out in the immediate vicinity, preferably on foot. This way, we only need 20-25 minutes per shoot (once during the day, once in the evening for sunset or blue hour).
And so we are back to the point of investment.
„What would you like to be told?“
Naturally, a few hours are enough, but the story behind it will feel incomplete, not told in its entirety. In principle, the longer I am with you, the more I can tell of your day. If you want the whole story, definitely opt for 10 or 12 hours.
It's quite simple in principle: as soon as you know your date and, ideally, your location.
If you then also know which photographer you like and want to have for your wedding in Germany, your destination wedding or your elopement, then don't hesitate to get in touch. Especially for destination weddings and elopements, you should plan with about 12 to 16 months lead time. For weddings within Germany, also plan for 12 to at least 6 months lead time, although the most popular dates are booked up early.
